The Central Processing Unit (CPU) on your computer is one of the most important components of the system. While the hard drive is going to store all of your information, the CPU will act as the main controller for the entire unit. The CPU will process all of the instructions from the rest of the system. Say that you want to queue up a word document. The CPU is the component that will send the instructions to your hard drive to bring the Word document up for editing.
