New PCs are notorious for add-on software that is of no use. Whether you would like to get rid of trial versions of AVG or other software, the process is fairly simple. Removing additional software from your computer can free up disk space and make your computer exponentially faster. There are several options that you can take when removing these programs. You can either go through the Windows Control Panel or you can use third party software applications. Removing the software by using the Windows Control Panel will save you money and is just as effective. Some third party software applications require a one-time fee while others might include a monthly fee. Don’t pay for a service to remove the software from your new PC. Do it yourself with little hassle.
Click on the “Start” button at the bottom left hand side of your Windows screen. This is the button that gives you access to the “Programs,” “Control Panel” and the “Recent Documents” list.
Click on the “Control Panel” option from the different selections on the screen and then click on the “Programs” button.
Click on the “Uninstall a program” icon from the menu that displays in the window. The window should give you a list of all the software that is installed on your system.
Click on the name of the program hat you want to uninstall your computer and then click the “Uninstall” button. This is located at the top of the window. Depending on the size of the program, the uninstallation process could take up to 2 minutes.
Wait for the program to uninstall and then repeat this process for all of the software that you want to remove from your computer. Restart you system to complete the uninstallation. Restarting might be required for the programs to completely disappear from your computer.
Once the computer has restarted, you should notice a small amount of increased performance. Click the “Task Manager” in the programs list to see what programs are starting when you log into your system. Repeat the uninstallation process to remove unwanted programs from your startup list.
